Tales on Tiles with Alison Waters
8 March 2022 at 5:00 pm - 7:00 pmFree
Words are not the only medium through which to tell our stories. Join artist Alison Waters in using clay and collaging to create beautiful and unique ceramic tiles. Express your personal story and share your thoughts with colleagues in this fun and engaging workshop.
This workshop is accessible for ALL levels and delivered in 2 parts, please make sure you can attend both sessions.
Part 1- Tuesday 8th March 5pm-7pm – You will learn how to make nine ceramic tiles using white clay and take some time to think about the story you would like to tell. You will explore collage techniques and learn how to use found text. Tiles will taken away at the end of the workshop to be fired and glazed.
Part 2- Tuesday 15th March 5-7pm – You will choose images, text and papers to illustrate your personal story using collage. After the second session, your collage will be digitised and transferred onto your finished tiles. Some tiles will be selected to form part of Lime’s May ‘22 Create.Connect.Unwind+ Festival exhibition.
