Our lives, our stories: A six-week Creative Writing Course

Led by playwright Kim Wiltshire, this six-week course ‘Our lives, our stories’ is for anyone who wants to discover and develop their unique voice as a writer and nourish inspiration and creativity through practical tools and group support. Whether you want to write short stories, poetry, plays or to write your first novel, this course will help you to develop the toolkit you need to bring your creative ideas to life.
No prior knowledge, skills or experience required!
In these six workshops you will:
• Learn new skills in writing and explore how creative writing techniques can be used every day for wellbeing and reflection
• Meet new people, in supportive online and face-to-face sessions at the Lime Arts Studio
• Use structured guided writing exercises and enjoy stimulating and supportive small group discussion about your creative work
• Discover the power and beauty of the creative written process
• Receive support and feedback from a professional writer
• Be part of a creative project that marks the experience of NHS workers
The course will provide an open creative space for you to explore your ideas and will be inclusive, accessible, and respectful of everyone’s thoughts, feelings, and points of view.
You will receive a free writing kit at the first workshop.
Please note you will need to attend all workshops listed below (the first and last workshops will take place at Lime Arts Studio with the rest online via Zoom)
Workshop 1: 18th January 2022 5.30pm – 7pm - FACE TO FACE WORKSHOP at the Lime Arts Studio- Introduction to course and getting to know each other.
Workshop 2: 25th January 7pm – 8.30pm - ONLINE WORKSHOP - The Letter Never Written
Workshop 3: 1st February 7pm – 8.30pm - ONLINE WORKSHOP - The Voice
8th February Writing Week – no workshop - time to focus on your writing
Workshop 4: 15th February 7pm – 8.30pm - ONLINE WORKSHOP - Place and Nature
Workshop 5: 22nd February 7pm – 8.30pm - ONLINE WORKSHOP- Glimpsed Moments
Workshop 6: 1st March - 5.30pm – 7pm - FACE TO FACE WORKSHOP- at the Lime Arts Studio-Wrap up session and celebration!
