Lime Lunchtime Concert Series at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital
Lime’s popular Lunchtime Concert Series, now in its eighth year, sees over 100 concerts taking place annually and gives hospital visitors, patients, and staff a chance to enjoy live concert performances from top musicians. Set within the Royal Manchester Eye Hospital Atrium, concerts feature a range of genres and instrumentalists from light classical, to jazz, to music from West Africa, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia.
“Music in the Atrium is part of the fabric of MREH. The wider Trust is aware of the program and it is heartwarming to see and speak with the variety of people who appreciate the lunchtime series from staff who come and meet colleagues for lunch, patients and carers from MREH who prefer to wait for their appointment in the Atrium when the music is being played to patients from ward areas who appreciate the diversion that the music can give. Seeing children to the elderly toe tap to music in the same space is something special achieved in this environment by the concert series.” Matron for Outpatient Services
